Food for Specified Health Uses
“Food for Specified Health Uses” (FOSHU) refers to foods containing ingredients with functions for health and physiological effects on the human body. Food labeled as FOSHU are approved by Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency that enforces the food safety acts and carries out examinations of safety and scientific validity of health maintenance and promotion.

Plant-Based Capsule

“Japan Patent” Mark
A certificate of patent issued by the Japan Patent Office, a division of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The submission of detailed product functions and test results are compulsory for patent right application in Japan. The patent is granted after a series of examinations and a three-year waiting time to ensure the uniqueness of patented research.

Food with Nutrient Function Claims
There are standards set for food labeled with the nutrient function claims (FNFC) by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. The standards include 12 vitamins (A、C、E、B1、B2、B6、B12、D、Nicotinic acid, pantothenic acid, folic acid, Vitamin H), β-carotene and 5 minerals (calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and copper). Only foods that comply with these standards can be labeled as FNFC.
